What Are Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are Nationally recognised training programmes for students between the ages of 16-25.

The programme gives you the chance to earn as you learn. Your careers advisor will help you decide which option is best for you.

The speed at which you achieve your Apprenticeship depends upon both your ability and your employers requirements. Usually, an Apprenticeship will last between one and three years.

Once a job or work placement is found you will agree a learning plan with your employer and learning provider.

You have to show dedication and a professional attitude. You will be expected to keep to normal working hours with your employer to earn your wages. You’re also expected to spend time with a learning provider and to study for a technical certificate. You will need commitment. It can be hard, but it will be very rewarding.
